tally.org is a volunteer-driven accessibility resource that helps small organizations. Our resources help businesses, non-profits, and municipalities:

  • Learn about accessibility
  • Create custom checklists for their accessibility needs
  • Apply accessibility in their work
  • Find examples of “accessibility in action”

We offer:

  • A learning library that helps you learn how to improve the accessibility of your organization and its content.
  • Evaluations that help determine the current accessibility of your organization and its resources.

tally.org is built by volunteers around the world, with leadership from an editor, using open source technologies. We currently have volunteers in Canada, the United States, Australia, India, and Hungary. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out.

We use the following standards and sources, among others, for developing our content:

  • The lived experience of people with disabilities, including our volunteers
  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Making Content Usable
  • Standards for the digital and built environments used in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Japan
  • Checklists and laws developed for use in the United States and Canada
  • Academic research
  • Other international codes and standards, as applicable.
